Progress at Skye by Pikos has continued through Tropical Cyclone Alfred, with the eco-friendly facade coating applied and high-end interior finishes taking shape at Kangaroo Point.
Tropical Cyclone Alfred crossed the coast in March, the kind of weather event that can carve weeks out of a construction programme. At Kangaroo Point, the build barely broke stride.
Work on the facade is well advanced. Painters have been applying ECOTONE Minsil, a durable, eco-friendly silicate emulsion selected to enhance the natural appearance of the concrete facade while providing long-lasting protection. The finish will be fully revealed when the scaffold comes down later in the year.
Inside the residences, high-end finishes are starting to take shape. Curved feature walls are being formed and travertine tiles are being installed, giving an early indication of the standard being delivered across the development. Recent footage from Pikos Group offers a first glimpse of these interiors coming together.
Built for Pikos Group at 8 River Terrace, Skye comprises three towers and 69 luxury residences above 100 metres of uninterrupted Brisbane River frontage, with views over the Botanic Gardens, Story Bridge and city skyline. Each tower rises 14 storeys with just two residences per floor, an arrangement that gives every home natural light, river breezes and an uninterrupted outlook.
It has been a season that tested planning and coordination on sites across South East Queensland, and the steady progress at Kangaroo Point reflects the effort of the project team and subcontractors through a demanding period.
The coming months will bring further milestones. With full building height fast approaching, the topping out pour is on the horizon, with scaffold removal to follow later in the year.
