PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

Tomkins delivered a 6,000 m² multi-sport precinct for St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School, including a FINA-compliant pool, gymnasium and outdoor courts. The development supports health, fitness and learning, enhancing facilities for students and the broader community. This project reflects our commitment to delivering complex education facilities within live school environments.

The new precinct combines a wide range of facilities into one integrated development. At its heart is a sprung-timber-floor gymnasium with capacity for 800 spectators, a 76 m² climbing wall and advanced AV capabilities. The adjacent indoor sports courts are connected to outdoor courts by a 22-metre counterweight door, creating flexible space for tournaments and events.

The suspended swimming pool holds 1.3 million litres and is supported by tiered seating, retractable shade and outdoor rinse showers. A two-level HPE building provides classrooms, a strength and conditioning gym, offices and staff amenities. Delivered in a live school setting, the project was managed with a collaborative approach, ensuring minimal disruption to students and staff while achieving high-quality outcomes.

“
Tomkins provided a collaborative, open communication approach and used best endeavours at all times to accommodate construction in a live school environment. Our new sporting precinct is an impressive addition to our school and local community.
