Tomkins successfully delivered a purpose-built training facility for Qantas at Brisbane Airport, designed to house full flight simulators, training spaces and support areas.
The centre strengthens pilot capability across multiple aircraft types while providing flexible spaces for study, operations and staff use.

The Qantas Training Facility spans 2,171 m² and includes a 1,134 m² simulator hall, dedicated simulator maintenance areas and over 1,000 m² of modern offices and training rooms. It also provides briefing, teaching and administration spaces, IT rooms and hydraulic plant facilities to support simulator motion.
Delivered with precision and care, the facility supports training across four aircraft types — 787, 767, Q400 and 738. A pilot breakout area was also created, offering quiet study and meal spaces to support training sessions. Our team’s attention to detail ensured Qantas received a world-class facility designed for long-term operational efficiency.
The facility was carefully planned to balance simulator requirements with supporting operations. The main hall accommodates four full flight simulators, complemented by a purpose-built Flight Training Device room. Adjacent office, training and administration areas provide space for staff and students, while IT and plant rooms were integrated to ensure reliable performance of all systems.
