Tomkins transformed a former Masters hardware store into a 12,122 m² bulky goods retail centre at Bundall. The project delivered six new tenancies, a central retail mall and full base build service upgrades. Our team managed complex design changes while meeting a tight delivery timeframe.
The conversion required extensive works to adapt the former Masters site into a modern retail centre for Home Consortium. New electrical distribution and hydraulic services were installed for each tenancy, while the former garden centre was enclosed with new roof and wall structures. The internal flooring was resurfaced, and fire, mechanical and security systems were upgraded to meet compliance and tenant needs.
A standout feature of the project is the central mall, finished with high-quality epoxy flooring to create a polished retail environment. Tomkins also delivered complete fit-outs for Focus on Furniture, Nick Scali, James Lane and De Rucci. With 17 floor plan revisions and over 50 client-driven changes during construction, our team worked seven days a week and at night to deliver the project on time without compromising quality.
The redevelopment created six large-format retail tenancies supported by modern services and a polished central mall. Fit-outs for major national brands were completed alongside the base build, ensuring seamless delivery. The project team worked closely with tenants and stakeholders to accommodate design changes while maintaining programme certainty.
