The Saab Secure Facility located in the Citiswich Business Park achieved Practical Completion in May 2022. This project was delivered for our long-standing client Walker Corporation, on behalf of end users Saab Australia (Saab) and the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

Saab was awarded a contract with the ADF to manufacture, maintain and store mobile hospitals for an as-needed basis. Tomkins’ project brief for the ‘Saab Australia Secure Facility’ was to design and construct a turn-key commercial/industrial facility used to manufacture, maintain and store mobile hospitals for the ADF.

The project therefore included two 6,000m² warehouses and a 2,000m² super awning linking the two warehouses. 950m² of office space and over 15,000m² of heavy-duty concrete pavement were also delivered as part of this build.

The Operations Warehouse consisted of Tent Assembly Areas, a Maintenance Hub, Bond Store Area, CSSD/Sterilising Room and temperature controlled Cold Stores. The Storage Warehouse included fully integrated racking and services.
