Tomkins is proud to announce the design and construction of Komatsu’s new Distribution Centre & Innovation Hub located at Wacol.
This impressive facility is 17,500sqm under roof and will include a 14,500sqm distribution centre, a 2,000sqm large parts storage area, 2,000sqm mezzanine, and a 1,500sqm innovation hub & showroom spread over two levels.
Following the submission of our tender proposal back in Q3 2019, Tomkins was invited to a post-tender meeting where we were able to run through our design proposal, methodologies and project team. The opportunity to meet our project team and form a face-to-face relationship with the client was as important to us as it was to the client — relationships are the core of our business.
During construction of the project, the team will be utilising the Komatsu Smart Construction Technologies to allow higher levels of precision and increased productivity on site. The intelligent machine controls use a combination of Integrated Sensors, Automated Control and Global Navigation Satellite Systems to accurately monitor and track the civil works. All live data is then available on a cloud-based system to progressively track the progress of the works and compile as-built records.
Early works are due to commence late 2019 and construction planned for the beginning of 2020. We’re looking forward to getting started.
