Daikin’s logistics and distribution centre at Goodman’s Gateway@Murarrie estate has achieved a 6 Star Green Star Design & As Built v1.3 rating, surpassing the World Leadership benchmark.
A 6 Star Green Star rating is the highest certification the Green Building Council of Australia awards, reserved for buildings that surpass the World Leadership mark. Few industrial facilities reach it. This one has.
The certified rating recognises sustainability outcomes embedded across every system of the facility at Goodman Group’s Gateway@Murarrie estate. Highlights include a 320kWh solar system providing operational electricity, irrigation and amenities flushing supplied by rainwater storage and a future-proof design that anticipates climate change.
Inside the building, efficient energy use is achieved through smart controls and monitoring, indoor air quality meets superior standards and materials were chosen for their life-cycle value. Fuel-efficient vehicle and EV charging facilities complete the package.
The result reflects a broad collaboration. The certification was achieved working alongside Goodman Group, the Green Building Council of Australia, Sparc and Colliers International, together with the suppliers and contractors who helped bring the project to life.
The facility forms part of the wider Gateway@Murarrie estate delivered under a Design and Construct contract at 33 Goodman Place, Murarrie, positioned directly adjacent to the Gateway Motorway in one of Brisbane’s most strategically connected freight corridors. The purpose-built Daikin building incorporates a dedicated training centre and two-storey office fitout alongside its warehouse and distribution operations.
Green Star ratings measure what a building actually delivers rather than what it promises, covering energy, water, materials, indoor environment quality and resilience. Achieving certification at this level on an industrial logistics facility demonstrates that sustainability and heavy operational performance can be built into the same structure, and sets a standard the team intends to keep chasing across its industrial portfolio.
