Crane Down as Rockpool Enters the Final Stretch

Tower crane being dismantled as Rockpool enters the final stretch built by tomkins

The tower crane has been dismantled at Rockpool in Rainbow Bay, marking the shift to final finishing works across the 21-residence beachfront development on Marine Parade, Coolangatta.

The milestone carries particular weight on this project. Rockpool occupies a steep, boundary-to-boundary site of just 1,193m2 directly above the beach at Rainbow Bay and the tower crane has managed all material handling since construction commenced in January 2022. Its removal means the structure, facade and major services are sufficiently advanced for the team to concentrate on internal finishing across all 13 levels.

Rockpool comprises 18 half-floor sky homes and three full-floor penthouses. Every residence faces east over Rainbow Bay and Snapper Rocks, with upper levels also capturing views west across the Tweed River. Residences range from 245m² half-floor sky homes to full-floor penthouses of 512m², wrapped in the building’s signature curved balconies and custom-formed bird’s beak detailing.

The recently completed display suite offers the first finished glimpse of the standard being delivered throughout the building. Natural stone finishes, oak-engineered timber flooring, Gaggenau and Vintec appliances and brushed nickel tapware feature in the suite, reflecting the specification that will carry through every residence.

With the crane down, attention turns fully to the finishing trades and the resident amenity levels, which will include a heated lap pool, sauna, gymnasium, residents’ lounge and direct beach access with surf storage.

Completion is targeted for later in 2025, when Rockpool will take its place above one of Australia’s most recognised surf breaks.
