Tomkins has completed another University of Queensland – UQ project, this time at the central St Lucia campus! We have refurbished the entire Level 1 of the Sir William MacGregor building, part of the UQ School of Biomedical Sciences.

Considering the recent expansion of biomedical undergraduates and reduced teaching spaces, the UQ Sir William MacGregor building required additional services, teaching areas, and administration to Level 1. Tomkins scope of works included the full demolition of the entire 1500sqm first floor internal areas. The full refurbishment included all services and finishes including a new PC2 laboratory, new admin offices, a blended learning zone for students, breakout deck and a goods receiving dock. This project drew on our team’s vast expertise working within a live university setting, with tight operational conditions and many stakeholders to consider.
