About You:

Responsibilities Include:

• Preparation of subcontractor tender packages, scope of works, contract documentation and procurement schedules
• Preparation of head contract progress claims
• Submission and evaluation of variations
• Head contract administration
• Prepare end of month costs reports for presentation to the Project Manager
• Administer RFIs to clients, architects, and consultants
• Assisting Project Manager with daily operations
• Build relationships and negotiate with suppliers

About You:

• Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management or a similar field
• Minimum of 5 years post-study relevant practical experience

Who are You.

You are currently studying a Bachelor of Applied Science (Construction Management)/Bachelor of Urban Development (Construction Management) and will be starting third year in 2018. We are looking for an individual who has a strong work ethic, is energetic, collaborative and seeking to be mentored by experienced construction professionals.

You will assist in delivering a range of commercial, industrial, institutional and multi-residential apartment projects ranging in value from $5M – $50M.

You will need to demonstrate the following attributes:

  • The Ability to understand commercial, industrial and residential construction processes and practices
  • Possess a high level of computer literacy including the ability to use MS Office. Previous experience with MS Project or Suretrak software would be advantageous
  • A high level of attention to detail
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Show initiative in handling and prioritising tasks and solving problems
  • Work within and contribute to a team environment

• Project sourcing and registration
• Preparation on BOQ’s
• Undertake value engineering
• Preparation of tender bids up to $40m
• Preparation of budgets and cost estimates
• Negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers
• Send out all sub-contractor documentation
• Review sub-contractor quotes
• Conduct Quality check on tender
• Meet with relevant parties and go over successful tender before hand over

About You:

• Recognised qualifications in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the Australian Construction / Building market
• Experience in the commercial / residential market
• Experience with Cubit, CostX or Build Soft estimating software
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills are essential
• Ability to manage multiple tasks

Reporting to the Safety Manager and working closely with the Site Manager, you will be required to ensure that safety and compliance is maintained across the project. Ideally you will have worked across large scale projects ($10M +) and be conversant with tier 1 & 2 safety systems.
