Tomkins has third party accreditation for our Safety Management System to AS/NZS 4801:2001.

The Accredited Safety Management System provides clear and concise communication of employee’s Responsibilities for Health & Safety. The safety system is communicated at commencement through the Company Induction and continually reinforced by corporate leadership and safety alert systems. These responsibilities are recorded within the Integrated Management System and are accessed by all personnel via the web based portal. The IMS also establishes the mechanism for further audit, monitoring and record of staff performances and this occurs regularly and often.

The system contains specific instruction and guidelines pertaining to safety as they apply to each aspect of the construction life cycle. These procedures are also accessible to all staff via the web based portal.

Tomkins also requires that Sub-contractors actively prepare site specific plans, procedures and SWMS to ensure they carry out specific tasks/activities in accordance with the work methods approved by Tomkins.

The adherence to the approved SWMS is audited regularly by site personnel and the HSEQ Systems Manager. Where non-conformances are detected, work is ceased immediately and in the forum of a tool box meeting the ‘correct’ procedures is reiterated and communicated. Records are maintained of all meetings of this nature.
