Tomkins has third-party accreditation for our Environmental Management System ISO 14001:2004.

ISO 14001:2004 specifies requirements for an environmental management system to enable an organization to develop and implement a policy and objectives. The system which take into account legal requirements and other requirements to which the organization subscribes, plus information about significant environmental aspects.

Tomkins’ Environmental Management Policy outlines Tomkins’ commitments, while the Environmental Management Procedure provides the requirement for all Tomkins’ employees to address matters that protect the environment.

Every Tomkins project site is required to efficiently manage waste and consumable consumption to limit the impact of our activities, but also because it makes good financial business sense. This approach was put to good use on our most recent Green Star project targeting a 4 star rating for the $25million Chermside Library project.

Additionally, we mentor and provide practical waste reduction solutions to our site teams as part of our bi-monthly Site Managers and Foreman forum meetings.
