The creation of this new facility was in response to the Council’s critical need to respond with effective Community and Emergency Services in the time of flood as had been experienced in 2011. Constructing this new Depot on vacant Council land comprised a varied scope of work across the large 3,179m2 site.

The design intent was to establish new building levels above the new recorded flood level and involved a detailed civil works phase prior to the construction of the 324m2 Administration & Training building along with a 167m2 Equipment/Vehicle structure and the 72m2 Store building. The remainder of the site developed for heavy duty vehicle hard stand, driveways, landscaping and a designated overland flow path for surface storm water.
