Working on concert with Thinc Projects in the role of Project Manager and as a construction variation to our earlier work on the McAuley Clinic, we were contracted to deliver a 610 space car park and Sports Court facility to the University.
Constructed adjoining the main University entrance this new facility comprised the delivery of a 680Lm lead-in roadway, 32,000m2 for the car park and associated storm water swales & bio-retention basins to a further 16,000m2.

The car park’s location close to down-stream “wetland” systems forming part of the Nudgee Wetlands created a high risk profile to the environmentally sensitive site. This new facility adds a huge capacity to the parking needs of the University with open connectivity into the campus proper and also provides some social/sporting amenity with the covered multi-purpose sports court.

“I am writing this letter as a formal recommendation . . . regarding the performance of Tomkins Commercial & Industrial Builders on the numerous projects they have completed for the Australian Catholic University, the latest being ‘Building T’ which has just won a Queensland Master Builders Award for Education Facility over $5m.

There are many challenges when working on an operational campus and the Tomkins team have shown their ability to effectively address any issues that have arisen during the projects that they have completed on the Campus and I have been particularly impressed by the manner in which the site team has managed the projects and their subcontractors to lessen the impact of works on the surrounding University community.

I cannot speak highly enough of the level of service, the productive relationship and the professionalism that we continue to enjoy with the Tomkins team. I have no hesitation in recommending them . . . .”
