Australian Catholic University Building T is a landmark project identified in the master plan for the University as part of their objectives for the Brisbane Campus and an exceptional opportunity to symbolise the next phase of growth.

The new 6,000m2 multi-level structure ‘greenfield’ construct only project follows on from our previous successful delivery of numerous projects. With a very tight 43 week contract completion, the highly technical, complicated and detailed project required the assembly of some of our key and most experienced personnel to achieve the desired outcome. The contemporary building design and elemental fabric nuances involved with the likes of post tension concrete slabs, glazed curtain walls, state of the art mechanical & electrical services and large open space design are more often experienced in the Commercial Sector but have been cleverly integrated on this campus centre piece.

“I am writing this letter as a formal recommendation . . . regarding the performance of Tomkins Commercial & Industrial Builders on the numerous projects they have completed for the Australian Catholic University, the latest being ‘Building T” which has just won a Queensland Master Builders Award for Education Facility over $5m.There are many challenges when working on an operational campus and the Tomkins team have shown their ability to effectively address any issues that have arisen during the projects that they have completed on the Campus and I have been particularly impressed by the manner in which the site team has managed the projects and their subcontractors to lessen the impact of works on the surrounding University community.I cannot speak highly enough of the level of service, the productive relationship and the professionalism that we continue to enjoy with the Tomkins team. I have no hesitation in recommending them . . . .”-Prof. Jim Nyland, Associate Vice-Chancellor (Brisbane), Australian Catholic University
